STIR/SHAKEN

We’ve all experienced it: Unwanted robocalls and telemarketing calls, causing unnecessary interruptions on our day. What’s worse than those calls? Ones from bad actors, attempting to scam individuals and businesses.

It’s estimated there are over 4 billion robocalls made each month in North America, and as many as 40% are fraudulent.

So, what is Beanfield doing to protect our customers?

We’re complying with a new method called STIR/SHAKEN. This technology framework is designed to help reduce fraudulent robocalling and illegal phone number spoofing.

Secure Telephone Identity Revisited (STIR) are protocols that allow service providers to create a digital signature for a call that allows the receiver to verify the legitimacy of the caller.

Secure Handling of Asserted Information Using toKENS (SHAKEN) is the framework for how STIR is to be deployed by service providers in their network.

So what does this actually mean for your business?

Beanfield will be partnering with Neustar so we are complying with the latest regulations to protect our customers. Your incoming calls will instantly be verified, so you can trust the person at the other end of the line is who they say they are.
