The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) is the single largest health agency dedicated to all blood cancers and a major funder of blood cancer research in Canada. September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, and Beanfield is pleased to share that we have partnered with LLSC to support people affected by a blood cancer!
LLSC funds life-saving blood cancer research across the country, and provides information and support services at no cost to people affected by the disease and their families. Their mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of Canadians affected by blood cancers.
Meet Maria Muscari, the 21-year-old living with stage 4 Hogkin’s lymphoma.
A mysterious skin rash and breathing problems sent Maria to the hospital where she learned that a large amount of irregular sized lymph nodes put pressure on her chest. It was at that moment that Maria was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.
Since Maria’s diagnosis in 2018, she has been living with cancer. After numerous treatments that consisted of chemo and immunotherapy, this past June, Maria and her family received some very trying news from her doctor. They have run out of treatment options, and one of the last options for Maria to be CURED is a stem cell treatment.
Stories like this is why Beanfield feels it was imperative to get involved and support people who are most vulnerable in our community. This Blood Cancer Awareness Month, we invite you to show your support for Maria and others like her by making a donation to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and their Light the Night campaign at www.LightTheNight.ca for Team Unicorn.
Light The Night generates the lion’s share of funds for blood cancer research, and last year, the entire nation came together and raised more than $5 million. You too can help fund research and make personalized support possible for Maria and other families touched by blood cancer.
Every dollar counts, please give what you can.
