Throughout Black History Month, we have been highlighting and commending some of the amazing charitable organizations working to support Black lives in our local communities.
These organizations are doing incredible work, from reducing stigma around mental health while providing necessary resources to those in need, to creating programming for Black youth and adults to address employment, education, and training.
As we look back at the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians throughout history, Beanfield is proud to help support these organizations in creating a better, more equitable future:
Careers Education Empowerment Centre (CEE)
CEE is an amazing charity focusing on the economic and social barriers affecting Black youth. Its mission is to create opportunities for employment, career advancement and drive greater economic empowerment for Black youth, ages 14-29, in both Toronto and Montreal.
DESTA Black Youth Network
Founded in 2006, DESTA is an organization serving Black youth across Greater Montreal. DESTA’s integrated strategy addresses both systemic and personal barriers to employment, helping to support Black youth ages 18-35 in reaching their educational, employability, and entrepreneurial goals through a holistic and individualized approach.
