We have always been proud to support Sistema Toronto and the amazing students who benefit from their free music and social educational programming. This year’s COVID-19 lockdown has had an effect on all of us, including the 300 students from low-income families that Sistema Toronto supports. Typically, these students find themselves participating in the after-school music lessons and concerts, which have a lasting impact on their education. However, during the lockdown many students found themselves without any form of connectivity, including devices and data sources, causing a roadblock for continuing their education from home. Sistema Toronto was quick to pivot their normal outreach and with the support of Beanfield, they were able to make at home education possible for their students. Over 300 students have been supplied with the necessary tools of laptops, tablets and data to make learning from home a possibility. The students are now able to continue their Sistema online sessions and connect with their classmates.
